Eero WiFi Mesh Setup

Do you want to set up a mesh network at your home? You can go for Eero WiFi mesh setup. You can easily execute Eero setup using the mobile app that runs on both Android and iOS phones. This page will walk you through the instructions for Eero login on the app and Eero network setup.

Have the Following Handy Before You Begin:

  • Eero system
  • Existing DSL or cable modem
  • Ethernet cable

Steps for Eero Setup

1st Step: Install the Eero App

Eero can only be set up using the mobile app. Thus, the very first step is to install the app.

  • Go to the App Store or Play Store on your smartphone.
  • Search for the Eero app.
  • Install the app.

2nd Step: Log in to the App

  • You can use the Amazon login account to log in to the app.
  • You can also use my Eero account.
  • If you do not have an Eero login account, then create one now.
  • Enter your email address and phone number.
  • Use the verification code to create an Eero admin login account.
  • Use the account details and log in to the app.
  • Proceed to the next step after mesh WiFi login.

3rd Step: Setup Eero Gateway

  • First of all, set up the primary Eero which is the Eero gateway.
  • Unplug the existing internet modem.
  • If you have an existing router, remove it from the network.
  • With the help of the Ethernet cable, link any of the Ethernet ports on the Eero gateway to the modem now.
  • Plug in the mesh device and supply power. The status light will flash white.
  • Supply power to the modem as well.

4th Step: Create Eero Network

  • Tap Next on the Eero app.
  • The app will look for the new Eero.
  • The LED on the network device will flash and turn solid when it is found.
  • You will be prompted to select a location of Eero on the app.
  • Enter the Eero’s serial number when prompted.

Find the serial number of your Eero device on a sticker at its bottom.

  • Enter the SSID (network name) and WiFi password for the Eero network. You can use the previous router’s SSID and password as well.
  • Tap Next when done. This creates the Eero network.

5th Step: Add Eeros to Network

After you’ve set up the primary Eero gateway, you can add more Eeros to the network to create an Eero WiFi mesh network. Here’s how to add Eero extender:

  • Place the Eero gateway at a central location.
  • An Eero extender can be connected wirelessly or by Ethernet backhaul.

NOTE: Eero Beacons can only be added wirelessly.

  • Plug in the Eero extender close to the gateway.
  • Make a wired or wireless connection as per your needs.

This completes the Eero setup and Eero WiFi extender setup. You have created an Eero WiFi mesh network in your home. You can now connect devices to the Eero network. Using the WiFi password connect to the SSID that you’ve just created.

What to Do if the Devices Can’t Connect to Eero Network?

  • Try turning the WiFi Off and On on your client device to connect to the new network.
  • Make sure that you’re entering the right password that you just created.
  • Bring the device within reach of the new eero network.
  • Reboot the device by powering it off and on and then try to make the connection.
